I had a chat with a dead man today, and it didn’t require a séance.
He was at work one day last year, felt unwell, and decided he needed to see the works first aider. He never made it.
On its way to the first aider he collapsed and his heart stopped beating. He had had a cardiac arrest.
Fortunately, on his construction site the management had taken the foresight of having a defibrillator (AED) as part of a the first-aid provision. They also ensured that there were staff on site who knew how to use of the defibrillator (AED).
Thanks to the foresight of the company and the prompt action of his colleagues he recovered, and woke up later that day in hospital. He made a full recovery.
This is just one example of countless examples why defibrillators and effective first aid training is essential in the workplace, in community groups and even at home.
For all your first aid and defibrillator (AED) training requirements, or for help completing your assessment of first aid need (as required by the first aid at work regulations), give us a call at Eureka training.
